Chance The Rapper met with Governor Rauner in Chicago to discuss funding for Chicago Public Schools and the meeting did not go as planned. Chance felt “flustered” after his 30 min conversation and asked about the $215 million that was discussed with the mayor last year.
The meeting stemmed from a sit-down requested by Chance after he received a congratulations on Twitter from Gov. Rauner on him winning 3 grammy’s. Chance wants everyone to just do their jobs including the media.
This has been an on-going bitter fight with Illinois state lawmakers and unless they reach an agreement on a budget that includes more money for Chicago schools, officials have said the school year will end June 1st instead of June 20th.
