‘He Got Game’ Turns 19; Spike Lee Teases New Jordan Collaboration

This week, Sneaker heads around the country took time to stop and reflect on Spike Lee’s ‘He Got Game’ opening in theatre’s 19 Years ago. The film followed the story of Jake Shuttleworth played by (Denzel Washington) who spent the last six years in prison after accidentally killing his wife during a violent domestic dispute, leaving his son, star basketball prospect Jesus Shuttleworth played by (Ray Allen), to fend for himself. One day, the prison warden (Ned Beatty) approaches Jake with an unusual offer: He’ll be given a week of parole to convince Jesus to attend the governor’s alma mater, with the promise of a shortened sentence if he succeeds.

Now…flash forward 19-years and Spike is back at it again with his iconic Brooklyn logo match. Earlier today Spike Lee took to his social media to post his logo on what looks to be a Jordan sneaker with a caption that read:

“Hola Jordanheads. How U Be? Stay Locked Into @Officialspikelee For Da Bomb Diggity To Drop. YA-DIG? SHO-NUFF. And Dat’s Jumpman Truth,Ruth.”

This announcement comes less than 24 hours after news broke that Jordan Brand is Returning the OG Spiz’ike “Cement” Colorways before the year is out.

Yep you read it right! The Spiz’ike’s are back for another Retro run this summer….so STAY TUNED!
